Arrival in Sri Lanka meet the Tour guide / Driver and transfer to the Hotel in Negombo for the over night stay after a long flight.
Day two Departure to Sigiriya via legendary rock city of Kurunegala, short tea break and proceed to Habarana for a Jeep safari to see Jumbos in the Minneriya national park. Dinner and over night stay.
Departure at 0600 hrs to the 5th cent. rock fortress. 1200 steps to climb. Get a glimpse of the famous mirror wall, Graffiti and the ancient pleasure garden of the King. Good foot work needed. Duration of the climb up and down 2 hours.
Proceed to Dambulla to visit the Golden cave temple 350 steps to climb. Religious attire needed to visit the temple. Dambulla is know as the geographical center of
sri lanka !!
After lunch proceed to Kandy via Matale city famous for spices. Visit the spice and a Herbal Garden with guidance.
Arrive in Kandy check in to the Hotel dinner and relax enjoying a cool sri lankan Beer.
Day four. Departure from Kandy visit the Temple of the tooth relic of Buddha, Gem museum, handy crafts and drive to Gampola Railway station to travel to Nuwara Eliya for an eye catching train trip through tea plantations, strawberry gardens, water falls, mountains and reach Nanu Oya station to be picked up by the tour coach and proceed for the city tour Nuwara Eliya known as the little England with old Victorian style houses and colonial hotels. Warm cloths needed to spend the night at a mean sea level of 1900 m.
Day five Visit the Horton plains and the worlds end and back to Nuwara Eliya. After noon at leisure.
DAy Six Departure after breakfast to Kithulgala which was the chief filming location of the award winning film “BRIDGE ON THE RIVER KWAI” Optional white water rafting adventure. Drive back to Negombo for a sea bathing Holiday.
Day seven Relax on the beach.
Day Eight Boat excursion in the Maha Oya river to see birds, water monitors and enjoy the nature.

EXTEND THE STAY / FLIGHT BACK HOME
After breakfast, set off to discover the 8th wonder of the world – the Sigiriya Rock Fortress. Dating back to the 5th Century A.D, this astounding ‘city’ on the summit of a high outcrop was the royal citadel of King Kassapa for over 18 years. A miraculous feat of artistry and engineering, its unique features and exquisite frescoes continue to amaze all who visit it, even today.
Evenning enjoy the magnificent views over the surrounding countryside (You may also rent bicycles to explore the surroundings). The rock is also famous for its frescoes, such as the frescoes of the “damsels” depicting beautiful goddesses and princesses.

Morning,After breakfast visit to Polonnaruwa. Do city tour around Polonnaruwa which is a world heritage site and the 2nd capital city of Sri Lanka built in the 11th and 12th centuries AD. See the ruins of the Royal Palace, the Gal Viharaya where four splendid statues of the Buddha in ‘Upright’, ‘Sedentary’ and ‘Recumbent’ postures carved out of rock, the Audience Hall, the Lotus Bath, the statue of king Parakramabahu, and the Parakrama Samudraya – a lake built by King Parakramabahu the great. There are also monuments of famous places of worship such as the Shiva Temple, the Lankathilake, the Watadage, the Galpotha, the Kiri Vehera and the remains of a former Temple of the Tooth Relic.
Thereafter Proceed to Minneriya ,enjoy an exciting safari at Minneriya National Park where you can watch elephants in their rightful home – in the wilds. One of the most spectacular wildlife events in Sri Lanka is ‘The Gathering’, where hundreds of elephants arrive by the herd from the surrounding areas to the Minneriya reservoir. As the water level recedes at the height of the dry season, they gather to feast on the lush grass, and quench their thirst for water and play.
Thereafter Proceed to Sigiriya.

Morning,After breakfast visit the historic Dambulla Cave Temple en route. Famed for their exquisite painted ceilings and statues – over 130 of them, the temple complex comprises five caves, some dating back to the 1st century B.C.
Afterwards, leave for the Matale , visiting a spice garden at Matale en route. Our spices have been sought after for centuries, and continue to be a celebrated export, even today.
Afterwards, reach the Knuckles region where you’ll spend the night. The Knuckles Mountain range includes sections of Kandy and Matale with the Mahaveli Valley separating it from the Central Hills on the South and East while the Matale valley does the same on the West. It was named Knuckles because the mountain range looks like a clenched fist. Its importance lies in its clear water, cloud forests and unique flora and fauna.

Full day of sightseeing. Walk in the mountains of central Sri Lanka, to see the waterfalls and streams. You can be accompanied by a nature guide if you so wish.

Afternoon, Enjoy a city tour of Kandy – the last kingdom of the Sinhalese, taking in the sights of Upper Lake Drive and the Market Square on the way to pay homage to one of the most sacred religious sites in Sri Lanka. The Temple of the Tooth or Dalada Maligawa is believed to house the ‘tooth relic’ of the Lord Buddha. A walk around the town will let you indulge in some souvenir hunting with intricate treasures in wood, copper, silver, brass, ebony, bronze, ceramics, lacquer work, handlooms, batiks, jewelry and reed-ware to choose from.
Evening ,Round off your day with a cultural show, where the vibrant costumes and pulsating rhythms of traditional dance forms from centuries old rituals will enthrall you.

After breakfast head ‘up country’ and the city of Nuwara Eliya to via Kithulgala. If you feel adventurous, the incredible experience of White Water Rafting awaits you at Kitulgala. The 5km on the picturesque Kelani River run covers 5 major rapids and 4 minor ones. You will be in good hands with safety gear, modern rafts, and a comprehensive safety briefing given by our white water rafting instructors beforehand.
Those who prefer to keep their feet dry can take it easy, relax and admire the beautiful views.
Continue to Nuwara Eliya, visiting the tea factory along the way.
Aftternoon , The old colonial outpost still referred to as ‘Little England’ Nuwara Eliya certainly lives up to its name. Perched 6200 feet above sea level, the climate too, adds to the illusion of one stepping into an old English town, where neat hedges, quaint cottages and beautiful old buildings stand as serene as they did well over a century ago – the magnificent Grand Hotel presiding over them all. There is, of course, an old golf course as well as horse racing events to complete the picture.
