-Airport to Pinnawala
Arrive in Sri Lanka and meet the tour guide / driver and travel to Pinnawala to visit the Pinnawala elephant orphanage. Step in to a pineapple plantation on the way to the Pinnawala elephant orphanage.
It is an orphanage, a nursery and a captive breeding ground for wild Asian elephants located at Pinnawala village. Located 13 km northeast of the Kegalle town which is in Sabaragamuwa Province of Sri Lanka. Pinnawala has the largest herd of captive elephants in the world.
Ride and bathe the elephants is optional.
-Pinnawala to Sigiriya
Departure to Sigiriya from Pinnawala to visit the famous 5th cent. Sigiriya rock fortress. The name refers to a site of historical and archaeological significance that is dominated by a massive column of rock nearly 200 meters high.
1st Night in Sigiriya
-Sigiriya to Pidurangala
Departure from Sigiriya to Pidurangala to visit Pidurangala rock for a hike which is a bit of a challenge. There is a huge reclining Buddha statue situated about half way up which is reconstructed by bricks up to some extent. To climb the rock you have to pass through a temple. Once you get to the very top of the Pidurangala rock you will be able to see a spectacular panoramic view of Sigiriya and its surrounding area.
-Pidurangala to Polonnaruwa
Proceed to Polonnaruwa for a city tour. Polonnaruwa is one of the world heritage sites and was the second capital city of SriLanka in the 11th and 12th centuries. There are ruins of the Royal Palace and the “Gal Viharaya” which consists of four splendid statues of Buddha in ‘upright’, ‘Sedentary’, ‘Recumbent’ postures which are carved out of rock. There is also an audience hall, the lotus bath, a statue of king Parakramabahu and the “Parakrama Samudraya” a lake built by king Parakramabahu the great.
-Polonnaruwa to Minneriya
Next, enjoy a splendid elephant safari in Minneriya national park which is an ideal eco-tourism location in SriLanka. It is a home for the wild elephants, sambar deer and leopards.

-Sigiriya to Dambulla
Departure from Sigiriya to Nuwara Eliya, en route Dambulla, Matale, Kandy and Ramboda
Visit Dambulla cave temple also known as the golden temple which is a famous world heritage site and as well as the largest and the best-preserved cave temple complex in SriLanka.
-Dambulla to Matale
Stopover at a well-known batik factory in Matale which is a showroom to see the batik making process from its initial stage itself to where beautiful dresses, sarongs, scarfs and table cloths are made.
Step into a spice and a herbal garden where various types of spices are grown for benefits and to gain informative knowledge about each of these spices and as well as Ayurvedic products.
Visit Nalanda gedige, an ancient stone temple which was constructed between the 8th and 10th centuries and is located close to Matale.
-Matale to Kandy
Pay a visit to the temple of the sacred tooth relic which is one of the most visited sites in SriLanka. Locally known as the “Sri Dalada Maligawa”, was constructed in the 16th century AD.
Visit a well-known gem museum in Kandy; a jewelry store which offers a diverse range of finely crafted and exceptional gemstones.
(Optional) Enjoy the Peradeniya royal botanical gardens which is the largest botanical garden in SriLanka.
-Kandy to Ramboda
Visit the Ramboda tea plantation which is surrounded by misty mountains and lush tea plants, taste a very fresh tea at the tea lounge.
Stop and have a look at the Ramboda waterfall which is 109m high and the 11th highest waterfall in SriLanka.
Have a magnificent view of three waterfalls, lakes and mountains from the Ramboda view point.
-Ramboda to Nuwara Eliya
Spend the evening at the Lake Gregory in Nuwara Eliya which is a popular tourist attraction site. Enjoy a swan-shaped pedal boat ride and a pony ride. Kids can enjoy at the funfair and snack bar. Book sea plane rides and have the best view of the country side.
3rd Night in Nuwara Eliya
-Nuwara Eliya to Nanu Oya
Departure from Nuwara Eliya to Nanu Oya station.
Enjoy the best train ride with a fantastic view from Nanu Oya to Ella.
-Nanu Oya to Ella
Arrive at the Ella station and then proceed to Little Adam’s Peak and have a look at the epic sceneries, one of the area’s which is popular for hikes and challenging walks.
Enjoy a very picturesque spot, the Nine Arch Bridge which is located in a dense jungle and situated in between the Ella station and the Demodara station.
-Ella to Wellawaya
Enjoy and spend some splash time at the impressive Ravana waterfall which is about 82ft in height.
(Optional) visit Buduruvagala in Wellawaya which is an ancient Buddhist temple which consists of seven other statues.
-Wellawaya to Tissa

Leave from Tissa to Yala and enjoy a fabulous and an unforgettable safari at the Yala national park in the morning.
-Yala to Tangalle
Travel to Tangalle from Yala to chill and relax at the Tangalle beach.
-Tangalle to Hummanaya
Pay a visit to the Hummanaya blow hole which is the only blow hole in SriLanka and known to be the second largest blow hole in the world.
-Hummanaya to Dewundara
Step in to visit the Dewundara light house which is the tallest light house in SriLanka and one of the tallest in South East Asia. It is known that all the building material of this light house including bricks and steel were all imported from England.
-Dewundara to Matara
Visit the Paravi Duwa Buddhist temple in Matara which is accessible via a bridge.
-Matara to Mirissa
Watch the sunset, relax and enjoy your evening at the Mirissa beach.
05th Night in Mirissa
-Mirissa to Ahangama
Early morning dolphin and whale watching in Mirissa. Departure from Mirissa to Unawatuna. En route Ahangama and Galle.
Stop at Ahangama for stilt fishing which is one of the most interesting traditional fishing methods in SriLanka.
-Ahangama to Galle
Pay a visit to the Galle fort which is known to be a world heritage site. It was first built by Portuguese and then modified by the Dutch in the 17th century.
-Galle to Unawatuna
Sea turtle center
Visit the sea turtle center also known as the sea turtle hatchery which is a conservation farm for sea turtles where a variety of turtles are nurtured and taken care of.
Chill and relax at the Hikkaduwa beach in the evening.
06th Night in Hikkaduwa
-Hikkaduwa to Colombo
Enjoy a sea side view by train from Hikkaduwa to Colombo.
Explore the Colombo city and its architecture, colonial buildings and do some shopping at the shopping malls.
Visit the Dutch hospital in Colombo which is considered to be one of the oldest buildings in Colombo Fort. It is now a heritage site where many tourists visit.
